With so many designs and colors to choose from, choosing the appropriate fold note can be complicated; we are here to make it easier.  The fact that there are many designs to choose, means that you are sure to find the design that fits you best.  Your personal taste and style determines which design is best for you.  If you prefer a more elegant look, you may choose a design that incorporates an embossed name or monogram.  Generally you can get these elegant notes in white or ecru with some printers offering them in soft pink or blue as well.  For an even more elegant look, you may choose our Ultimate Embossed Double Border Notes. If you prefer something more conventional and a little less elegant, you may choose a printed fold note rather than an embossed fold note.  These notes may be plain or may include an embossed border such as our Embossed Triple Border Notes.  These notes may not have the elegant embossing, but generally the name is printed in a thermograved ink, making the note just as beautiful.  Generally you can choose your name or monogram and occasionally you can add your favorite design or motif as...Read More

Though most business correspondence is fairly formal, don’t make the mistake of being too formal. There’s no reason to say “In the event that” when “If” will do. You want your writing to sound natural, not stuffy or stilted. Some writers suggest, for example, that it is wrong to use the pronoun “you” or to include contractions in business writing. However, doing so is appropriate in all but the most formal correspondence. In most writing, you should feel free to use such constructs, as they give a conversational, natural feel to your writing. No matter the subject or the circumstances, you should be positive in your writing, even if the information is negative. Word choice is very important in accomplishing this. Be honest and sincere. You must also avoid discriminatory or derogatory language. Avoid flowery or verbose language. Don’t be wordy in a misguided attempt to be diplomatic or to sound more eloquent or educated. Rather, use clear, concise, simple language without talking down to your readers. For more information on these topics, see the articles “Clarity” and “Conciseness”. In most cases, it is best to use active rather than passive constructions in your writing. Because the active voice is more direct, it is generally shorter and clearer. Moreover, it...Read More
Coming soon is National Grandparent’s Day. This holiday was started in 1978 to be the first Sunday after Labor Day. It is a wonderful holiday, with limited publicity.  This year, it will be celebrated on September 8th. And if you order soon, you should have plenty of time to order that special gift for your loving grandparents. There are of course several reasons why we would want to purchase a gift for our grandparents. They do so much for us. From kissing boo-boos and making cookies when we are little, to helping us to negotiate and understand our parents when we are teenagers. And then for a few of us lucky ones, being there for us when our children are born and witnessing and guiding us to be great parents. Celebrating grandparent’s day is a great way to show them how much they mean to you. This is also a great way to show your children that older generations have a lot of knowledge and information to offer. Many grandparents these days are still quite active people. In fact some more so than those still working their way up in their 70’s. From social events, to volunteer work, and of course family. The golden years...Read More
As we grow older we long for the good old days, when things were simpler. The kind of the days when towns were mostly made up of small, locally owned businesses. Our home towns consisted of marketplaces like the local butcher, small hardware stores, and hot dog stands across the street. Date and sign your letter. In the technologically advanced world we now live in we’ve become spoiled. We’re so used to our email dating and signing everything for us that some people actually forget these two important things when handwriting a note. You may be asking why you need to date it. Well, if the recipient chooses to keep the letter for sentimental reasons it’s nice to have the date on it so they know when they received it. The signature is important for obvious reasons. If you don’t sign your name they won’t know who it’s from. Write clearly. This tip isn’t just about grammar. We also mean penmanship. When you write a letter you need to use decent handwriting. For some of you this might be asking a lot, but at least try. Proper grammar is also important when writing a letter. Try to avoid spelling errors. Nice handwriting and proper grammar not only makes the letter easier to read, it makes it look nice too. Get personal. You don’t have to write about all the intimate details of your daily life, but there’s nothing worse than getting a letter that seems like it was written and then...Read More
